Water polo: Japan and China share honours at Asian Youth C'ships
JAPAN had an evening of mixed fortunes, as the 3rd Asian Youth Water Polo Championships drew to a close at the Toa Payoh Swimming Complex on Monday.
A convincing 12-3 victory over Iran secured gold for their boys in the Under-17 competition.
But their female counterparts fell short of making it a double, going down 5-11 to China in the girls' final.
Singapore's boys finished seventh among 10 teams after beating Sri Lanka 17-8 in their classification game in the morning, with Sean Ang netting all six of his attempts. Still, their position was down from sixth at the last edition.
