MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Oklahoma City Thunder's 12-game winning streak was ended on Thursday by the Minnesota Timberwolves, who were guided to a 99-93 victory by J.J. Barea, who scored 14 of his 18 points in the fourth quarter.

In Thursday's other games, the Miami Heat closed within a game of the Eastern Conference lead with a win over Dallas while Portland defeated Denver.

Minnesota's Kevin Love had 28 points, 11 rebounds and seven assists, but it was Barea who was the key, scoring 12 straight at one point for the Wolves to hold off the team with the best record in the National Basketball Association (NBA).

Oklahoma City's Kevin Durant had 33 points, seven rebounds and six assists but could not prevent the Thunder suffering their first loss since Nov 23.
