NEW DELHI (AP) - India batting great Sachin Tendulkar has announced his retirement from one-day cricket.

Tendulkar, 39, made the announcement on Sunday after speaking to Board of Control for Cricket in India president Narainswamy Srinivasan.

Tendulkar said in his announcement that he had decided to retire from the one-day format and that he felt "blessed to have fulfilled the dream of being part of a World Cup winning Indian team" last year.
