Table Tennis: Singapore's Yee Herng Hwee qualifies for Youth Olympic Games

Local youth paddler Yee Herng Hwee has made it to this year's Youth Olympic Games, clinching one of the first two spots available on Sunday at the Asia Continental Qualification event in Bangkok.
The 16-year-old finished top in her group in the round-robin stage, winning all three of her matches. She was given a bye in the quarter-finals, then swept aside Regina Kim of Uzbekistan 11-3, 11-5, 11-5, 12-10 in the next round with ease.
Team-mate Yin Jing Yuan lost his semi-final 5-11, 8-11, 12-10, 9-11, 11-7, 11-7, 6-11 to India's Abhishek Yadav.
But the 17-year-old Singaporean will get a second shot at qualifying for the Aug 16-18 event in Nanjing on Monday, when there are two more slots available.
