SWANSEA (AFP) - West Brom were beaten for the first time in five Premier League matches on Wednesday when Swansea clinched a 3-1 win which allowed the Welsh side to move into the top eight.

Swansea took an iron grip on the match inside the first 10 minutes when they opened up a 2-0 lead.

In the ninth minute, Spanish midfielder Michu grabbed his eighth Premier League goal of the season when he found the net by getting on the end of Pablo Hernandez's cross.

Two minutes later, Wayne Routledge hammered home the Welsh club's advantage when Jonas Olsson's attempted clearance hit him and the ball flew into the net.
