StarHub still keen on securing Premier League broadcast rights
StarHub announced on Wednesday night that it was still interested in acquiring Barclays Premier League broadcast rights in Singapore, but "only if the price is right".
Arch-rivals SingTel revealed earlier in the day that it will continue to screen BPL matches here for another three seasons until 2013.
The rights were acquired on a non-exclusive basis, leaving StarHub free to secure its own deal. Under Singapore's cross carriage laws which kicked in two years ago, pay-TV companies must allow competitors to carry exclusive programming they acquire.
According to StarHub, this year's BPL negotiations were conducted differently.
