Sprinter hobbles to finish in Derek Redmond moment
LONDON (AP) - Yohansson Nascimento watched in agony on the track as rivals completed the Paralympic 100 meters final.
The Brazilian, who won the 200m title on Sunday, fell to the ground about a third of the way through on Thursday's shorter sprint.
But undeterred by the pain in his left leg, Nascimento ushered away officials who attempted to help him.
And, with the 80,000-strong crowd applauding, he managed to hobble to the finish line in tears.
