Singapore Athletic Association seals 3-year apparel sponsorship deal with Brooks & 2XU

THE Singapore Athletic Association (SAA) has signed a new apparel sponsor in Key Power International (KPI), the local distributor of Brooks and 2XU.

The three-year product sponsorship deal, which starts this year and is worth about $150,000 annually, will see Singapore's track and field athletes decked in either of the brands in all competitions.

It is also the association's biggest apparel sponsorship deal to date.

The first to compete in the new gear would be the men's 4x100m relay team who will race at the Nippon Sports Science University Athletics meet in Japan next week.

Said Tang Weng Fei, SAA president: "This announcement represents a major step forward for the SAA.

"We are glad that KPI is far-sighted enough to recognise that Singapore athletics is on the up and on the cusp of a golden era with our new generation of young track and field athletes coming through."
