Singapore shuttlers Shinta Mulia Sari and Yao Lei had to settle for bronze at the SEA Games after losing in the women's doubles semi-finals in Naypyidaw on Friday.
The Republic's top female duo fell 21-23, 21-17, 17-21 to Malaysia's Vivian Hoo Kah Mun and Woon Khe Wei, who are ranked 18th in the world, two spots lower than the Singaporeans.
This is Shinta and Yao's third Games together, after winning silver in 2009 and bronze two years later. After winning one gold and four bronzes at the 2011 Jakarta edition, Singapore returns home with a single bronze this time.
"We made too many unforced errors and let them dictate the match - it's a disappointing end to the tournament for us even with the bronze," said Shinta, 25.
