Over 6,000 participants take part in inaugural Commando Challenge obstacle race
Over 6,000 participants took part in the inaugural Commando Challenge on Sunday, an urban race where runners had to go through obstacles over a 4km or 12km route.
Beginning at Tanglin Halt and finishing at the Tanjong Pagar Railway Station, participants had to trudge through mud, water and mixed terrain, and all runners had to tackle obstacles like cargo nets and ice baths.
Many got into the commando theme of the day, even showing up with war paint and wacky outfits.
Said a spokesman for the race: "We were delighted with the turn-out and enthusiasm of our 'commandos' today. We know we had set a tough challenge for them all but they really gave it their best."
