LONDON (AP) - Jose Maria Olazabal said being European Ryder Cup captain can be "torture" at times and he has ruled out staying on for another two years in the role.

He guided Europe to a 14.5-13.5 victory over the United States in a stirring comeback on Sunday in Medinah, Illinois.

Darren Clarke and Paul McGinley are the favourites to replace the popular Spaniard for the 2014 edition in Gleneagles, Scotland.

Olazabal said: "I think these two deserve a chance but I think Thomas Bjorn deserves a chance and also Paul Lawrie ... we have at least eight or nine guys. It would be hard to name just one or two."
