NEW YORK (AFP) - Rockets guard Jeremy Lin finished with 22 points and eight assists on Monday as Houston beat the New York Knicks, 109-96, handing his former team their first home loss of the National Basketball Association season.

Lin took the basketball world by storm last season before leaving the Knicks to sign as a free agent with the Rockets.

James Harden scored a team-high 28 points and grabbed 10 boards for the Rockets, who snapped a seven-game road losing streak at Madison Square Garden.

This is the second time this year the Rockets have beaten the Knicks. New York was unable to keep pace on Monday with Houston, who outscored the Knicks 54-29 over the second and third quarters.
