NEW YORK (AFP) - Los Angeles Lakers guard Nick Young has been suspended one game without pay for throwing a punch at Phoenix Suns guard Goran Dragic, the Nationa Basketball Association (NBA) announced on Thursday.
Young swung his fist at the Slovenian with 7:33 remaining in the second quarter of the Lakers' 121-114 loss at Phoenix on Wednesday.
NBA president of basketball operations Rod Thorn said Young will miss the Lakers' visit to Boston on Friday as a result of the suspension.
The league also fined centre Alex Len, a 7-foot-1 centre from Ukraine who was ejected for his flagrant foul against Young, a total of US$15,000 (S$19,079) and fined Suns forward Marcus Morris US$25,000 for escalating the altercation.
