Singapore mixed martial arts fighter Royston Wee won his debut fight in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), beating the Philippines' David Galera in Saturday's UFC Fight Night 34, its inaugural show in South-east Asia.

The 27-year-old emerged on top by unanimous decision after dominating all three rounds against Galera at the Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Centre.

Wee recovered from an illegal kick by Galera to finish the fight, and won 30-26. Galera had one point deducted for an illegal kick to Wee's face while on the ground.
