SHAH ALAM - A long range special from Nazrin Syamsul condemned the LionsXII to a 0-1 defeat by PKNS on Tuesday and their first loss in the Malaysian Super League (MSL) this season.

The Singapore outfit were made to pay for a series of missed chances when Nazrin's 25-metre effort found the top corner of Izwan Mahbud's goal in the 77th minute.

Fazrul Nawaz and debutant Gabriel Quak both spurned good first half opportunities, while skipper Shahril Ishak's header after the break forced a good save from PKNS goalkeeper Remezy Che Ros.

Tempers boiled over for the LionsXII in injury time, when striker Fazrul Nawaz was sent off for a wild challenge. Fazrul will miss the next two games, including Saturday's home match against Terengganu at Jalan Besar Stadium.
