The LionsXII came from behind to beat Terengganu 2-1 in the Malaysian Super League on Saturday evening.

The visitors had taken a shock lead at the Jalan Besar Stadium. Cameroonian striker Jean-Emmanuel Effa pounced on sloppy marking to head home in the 33rd minute.

But the Singapore outfit hit back after the break. Defender Safuwan Baharudin levelled the score with a tap-in from a corner just past the hour mark.

Five minutes later, substitute Syafiq Zainal grabbed the winner - and his first goal for his new team - with a well-placed header.
