Lions stun Malaysia in Suzuki Cup with 3-0 win
KUALA LUMPUR - Singapore's Asean Football Federation Suzuki Cup campaign in Group B was off to a dream start on Sunday night, when the Lions grabbed a sensational 3-0 win against defending champions Malaysia.
Singapore skipper Shahril Ishak was the bane of the home side, scoring twice in a frantic first half that stunned a packed Bukit Jalil Stadium.
Shahril opened the scoring on 31 minutes and headed into an unguarded goal six minutes later. Substitute Aleksandar Duric finished off the Tigers with a free header in the 74th minute.
Singapore's next match is against 2010 finalists Indonesia on Nov 28.
