SINGAPORE'S national football team fell 0-1 to the Philippines in a friendly played in Cebu on Thursday evening.

Substitute Marwin Angeles scored the only goal of the game in the 54th minute, after Lions goalkeeper Hyrulnizam Juma'at had failed to deal with Phil Younghusband's cross.

Singapore were left to rue midfielder Shi Jiayi's missed effort from the penalty spot in first-half stoppage time, which was saved by Philippines goalkeeper Eduard Sacapano.

It was the Lions second loss to the Azkals in the space of just over two months - in September, they crashed 0-2 at the Jurong West Stadium.
