Former Formula One world champion Lewis Hamilton was in Singapore on Wednesday to share his success story with ITE students.

The outgoing McLaren driver made an appearance at ITE College West to support the Peter Lim Scholarship and to hand out grants to 33 ITE students.

The scholarship - set up by billionaire Peter Lim in 2010 - has pledged $10 million to the Singapore Olympic Foundation and aims to nurture sporting talents in Singapore.

Hamilton, who will join the Mercedes F1 team next season, also addressed ITE students at the event.
