IOC names three-city race to host 2018 Youth Olympics
LAUSANNE, Switzerland (AP) - The IOC has picked Buenos Aires; Glasgow, Scotland; and Medellin, Colombia as candidates to host the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics, and rejected two bidders.
The IOC says its executive board declined to put Guadalajara, Mexico, and Rotterdam, Netherlands, forward on the candidate shortlist.
The full International Olympic Committee membership will select the host city at a July 4 meeting in Lausanne.
The 2018 event will be the third Youth Summer Games since the project was launched by IOC President Jacques Rogge.
