Indonesia's rival football associations declare truce, resolve 2 year dispute
JAKARTA (AP) - Indonesia's rival football associations have agreed to resolve their nearly two-year-old dispute and find a way to merge.
The deal was signed by the Fifa-sanctioned All-Indonesia Football Association, or PSSI, and the breakaway Indonesian Soccer Rescue Committee after a meeting with Youth and Sports Minister Roy Suryo.
Under the truce, the group will hold a meeting on March 17, three days before a deadline set by the world ruling body Fifa, Minister Suryo said late Monday.
He hoped the meeting would allow for the breakaway group to merge into the PSSI.
