Football: Huntelaar extends Schalke contract till June 2015
GELSENKIRCHEN, Germany (AP) - Dutch striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar has extended his contract with Schalke for another two years until June 2015.
The deal ends speculation that the former Real Madrid and AC Milan striker would move to the Premier League, having been an Arsenal and Liverpool target.
"I thought about the decision long and hard and am very thankful to those responsible at Schalke for giving me this time. But now I've reached a decision I'm most happy about," Huntelaar said.
"I have always felt comfortable at Schalke, with the club and its fans. Now I want to send out a positive sign that I believe in our team."
