A group of 30 young people from the Singapore Sports School (SSP) and Dyslexia Association of Singapore (DAS) got the chance to spend a morning with Tiger Woods Friday at Marina Bay Sands.
The representatives from the SSP's golf academy and DAS watched the world No. 1 up close, and even got their chance to try their hand at a golf simulator and a custom-made putting green under the watchful eye of the American.
Woods is in Singapore for the third time as part of MBS' corporate social responsibility initiative, Sands for Singapore. He will also be at a closed-door reception on Friday night for MBS invited guests. He was in Singapore in November 2011 and last year, also on MBS' invitation.
The 37-year-old, known to be fiercely private, did not give any media interviews but took the trouble to shake the hands of each of the students at the event, encouraging their putts and drives with words like "nice touch" and "good stuff". Seri Nur Ayu, 12, said: "He told me I did well and shook my hand. His hand is full of muscles!"
