Golf: Europe storm to five-point lead over Asia after opening day of EurAsia Cup in KL

Team Europe won all their four-ball matches at the inaugural EurAsia Cup to race to a 5-0 lead at the Glenmarie Golf & Country Club in Kuala Lumpur.
Captain Miguel Angel Jimenez led the way at Thursday's opening round, teaming up with fellow Spaniard Pablo Larrazabal for a 2-and-1 victory over Asia skipper Thongchai Jaidee and Kiradech Aphibarnrat, both from Thailand.
Asia came closest to earning their first point at the matchplay event from an unlikely source. Local upstart Nicholas Fung - ranked 251st in the world - and South Korean Kim Hyung Sung were 3 up after seven holes against former US Open winner Graeme McDowell and Welshman Jamie Donaldson. But the European pair bounced back after the turn to win 3 and 1.
The Danish duo of Thomas Bjorn and Thorbjorn Olesen then dispatched Japan's Koumei Oda and Hideto Tanihara 2-up.
