Golf: American teen Lexi Thompson wins LPGA Malaysia tournament by 4 shots
KUALA LUMPUR (AP) - American teenager Lexi Thompson fired a two-under 69 on Sunday to comfortably win the Sime Darby LPGA Malaysia tournament, beating her rivals by four strokes.
The 18-year-old, who won her second career LPGA title and first of the season, finished on 19-under 265 to end the South Korean dominance at the Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club.
Kang Jimin won the inaugural event in 2010 before compatriots Choi Na Yeon and world No. 1 Park In Bee followed the next two years.
Chinese star Feng Shanshan was second on 269 after carding a 67 while Lee Il Hee, leader of the first two rounds, ended tied for third after a 73, with world No. 2 Suzann Pettersen three strokes further back following a 70.
