LONDON (AFP) - Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers on Monday revealed England midfielder Steven Gerrard could return from injury in time for his club's Premier League clash against Hull on Wednesday.

Reds captain Gerrard has missed Liverpool's last four matches after suffering a hamstring problem in a win over West Ham at Anfield on December 7.

Asked at his pre-match press conference if Gerrard might be fit to face Hull at Anfield on New Year's Day, Rodgers said: "We will assess that over the next 24 hours.

"Steven has rejoined training so we'll see how he is for Hull."
