Football: Police probe Idrissou for threatening and insulting ex-girlfriend
BERLIN (AFP) - Cameroon striker Mohamadou Idrissou is under investigation for threatening and insulting behaviour, Frankfurt police have confirmed to SID, an AFP subsidiary, after a report in German daily Bild on Tuesday.
Idrissou, 33, who has made more than 40 appearances for Cameroon, has been under investigation since July 25 after repeatedly threatening and insulting his former girlfriend by mobile phone.
Now playing for second division Kaiserslautern after spells at Hannover, Freiburg, Moenchengladbach and Frankfurt, Idrissou has been the subject of a restraining order since Aug 10, prohibiting him from going within 75 metres of the woman.
The striker claims a "five-figure sum" of money disappeared from his home while he helped the woman look for an apartment and his lawyer has filed a complaint of embezzlement against her.
