Manchester United legend Paul Scholes has tipped his former side to build on their stunning comeback against Olympiakos and go all the way in the Uefa Champions League.

A Robin van Persie hat-trick on Wednesday helped the ailing English champions reverse a two-goal deficit against the Greek outfit to progress to the quarter-finals of the elite European club competition.

"For some reason, the team's best performances have come in the Champions League - if they play like they did on Wednesday, I don't see why they can't reach the final," Scholes, 39, told reporters after conducting a training session for 40 youngsters at Jalan Besar Stadium on Friday morning.

"It's been a difficult season so far, but getting to the final of the Champions League would make for a good ending."
