THE LionsXII were handed an unlikely reprieve after their Malaysian FA Cup match against PKNS FC was postponed owing to heavy rain today.
PKNS were leading 1-0 at the Petaling Jaya Stadium when referee Zamzaidi Katimin called a halt to proceedings on the waterlogged pitch in the 37th minute.
The round-of-32 clash will now be replayed on Saturday with the score reset to 0-0. The time and venue for the replay have yet to be confirmed.
The hosts, who had beaten the LionsXII 1-0 in the Malaysian Super League last week, had taken the lead in the third minute through defender Helmi Remeli's close-range header from a free kick.
