Fandi Ahmad picked up his first win as coach of the LionsXII on Tuesday evening, with a comfortable 3-0 victory over DRB-Hicom in a Malaysian FA Cup first-round tie played at the Bishan Stadium.

Goals by Sufian Anuar (28th minute), Gabriel Quak (53rd) and Faris Ramli (90th) helped the hosts to ease past their opponents from the second tier.

It was a morale-boosting result ahead of Saturday's visit of traditional rivals Selangor in a Malaysian Super League clash.

The FA Cup second round will see the LionsXII face either Perak or Pahang at the Jalan Besar Stadium on Feb 4.
