Raddy Avramovic, the former Singapore national football coach, has been unveiled by the Myanmar Football Federation (MFF) as its new national coach.

The Serb signed a one-and-a-half year contract that will see him through to next June's SEA Games hosted in Singapore at the Sports Hub. He has started work with immediate effect and will handle the Myanmar national team as well as its Under-23 side.

Avramovic, 64, coached the Lions from 2003 to 2012. In his tenure, he won the Asean Football Federation Suzuki Cup three times (2004, 2007 and 2012) to add to the Lions' first triumph in 1998.

MFF media department director Soe Moe Kyaw said: "Raddy is a very experienced coach who knows Asean football very well. We believe he is the man who can take Myanmar football to a higher level."
