Football: Evergreen Totti pens new 2-year deal at Roma, says report
MILAN (AFP) - Veteran forward Francesco Totti has signed a new deal at Roma that will see him extend his exclusive partnership with the Serie A football club until June 2016, reports said on Friday.
Totti, 36, has remained faithful to the Giallorossi since signing his first senior contract with the club in 1994. Since then he has played a total of 670 matches, including 537 in Serie A.
Friday's edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport said Totti had signed a two-year deal worth 3.2 million euros per season and that he would join the club's management hierarchy at the end of the 2016 season.
Despite appearing only 58 times for Italy, Totti was recently given hope of a shock call-up for the 2014 World Cup after Azzurri coach Cesare Prandelli said he would not rule the veteran out of contention for a place in his squad.
