Football: Beckham set to sign for Paris Saint-Germain
LONDON (AP) - A person familiar with David Beckham's situation has said that the football star is set to join French Ligue 1 club Paris Saint-Germain.
The person says the 37-year-old is to have a medical examination on Thursday in the French capital. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the deal has not yet been completed.
PSG would only confirm that a new player would be attending a news conference at 1600GMT (midnight, Singapore time) on Thursday.
PSG's Qatari-owners have invested more than US$300 million (S$369 million) in players since buying the club in 2011. But Beckham was available on a free transfer after he ended his six-year stint in the United States with a second MLS Cup last month.
