PARIS (AFP) - On-loan Marseille midfielder Joey Barton was dismissed for the first time in France's Ligue 1 on Sunday since joining from Queens Park Rangers in August.

Barton received his marching orders on the hour-mark after collecting two yellow cards in the space of five minutes during Marseille's match at home to basement side Nancy.

The Englishman picked up his first caution for a late challenge on Vincent Muratori before earning an early bath with the match still goalless for a foul on Djamel Bakar.
