Chiara Sophia Amor has won the Concours de Saut International (young riders) (CSIY-B) individual showjumping competition at the National Equestrian Centre on Sunday morning by the slightest of margins.

Competing in Singapore for the first time, the 16-year-old Filipino was timed at 55.97sec after two rounds, edging out Singapore's Nicola Hammond by a mere 0.2 sec to earn victory.

Chiara said: "I was really nervous going through but I tried to remember to breathe a bit, to get along with the horse, and to relax."

Her victory did not come easy, with her horse hesitating a little before one of the obstacles, and the petite winner admits to having an attack of nerves.
