Cricket: Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd slams Ashes decision on Twitter
MANCHESTER (AP) - Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd has taken to Twitter to complain about a controversial decision to give one of his country's batsmen out during the third Ashes test against England on Thursday.
Usman Khawaja was adjudged to have edged a delivery by Graeme Swann to wicketkeeper Matt Prior, despite replay technology failing to provide any evidence that he touched the ball with his bat.
Rudd tweeted: "I've just sat down to watch the test. That was one of the worst cricket umpiring decisions I have ever seen."
The call - upheld after a review - appeared to be widely condemned, with Australia bowling great Shane Warne calling it a "ridiculous decision".
