Brazil legends divided on Scolari return
SAO PAULO (AFP) - World Cup winning coach Luiz Felipe Scolari's impending return as manager of the Brazilian national team provoked a divided reaction from former legends Zico and Carlos Alberto on Wednesday.
An official announcement on Scolari's appointment for a second spell in charge of the Selecao is expected on Thursday.
Scolari, who coached Brazil to their fifth World Cup title in Japan in 2002, will be charged with bringing further success on home soil in 2014.
"We have to have someone who can face up to the pressure of the post," said Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) president Jose Maria Marin, who refused to confirm that Scolari was the new coach.
