Badminton: Li-Ning Singapore Open hit by 10 new withdrawals one day before tournament

The Li-Ning Singapore Open, which begins on Tuesday at the Singapore Indoor Stadium, has been hit by a string of player withdrawals.
A total of 10 new withdrawals were announced during a team managers' meeting at Swissotel the Stamford on Monday.
Among them: Indonesian men's singles players Simon Santoso, Sony Dwi Kuncoro, Dionysius Hayom Rumbaka, women's singles players Ratchanok Intanon of Thailand and P.V. Sindhu of India, as well as China's women's doubles pair and top seeds Wang Xiaoli and Yu Yang.
This comes after the withdrawal of China's badminton superstar Lin Dan, who announced earlier this month that he would be giving the week-long tournament a miss.
