SEA Games silver-medallist Gary Yeo won the men's 100m and Singapore's first gold at the ASEAN University Games in Vientiane, Laos, on Saturday.

The 26-year-old from the Singapore Management University clocked 10.44 seconds, beating Malaysia's Hadi Mohd Noor Imran (10.56s).

Singapore's Calvin Kang took bronze with a time of 10.57s.

Yeo's time is a personal best, and is the fourth-fastest in Singapore history. It is also the fastest clocked since UK Shyam set the national record of 10.37s back in 2001.
