WEST BROMWICH, United Kingdom (AFP) - Peter Odemwingie's late strike saw West Bromwich Albion fight back from two goals down to draw 2-2 at home to Aston Villa in an entertaining Midlands derby on Saturday.

Odemwingie struck from close range in the 83rd minute after Chris Brunt had started to chip away at a two-goal lead that Villa established through superb first-half goals from Christian Benteke and Gabriel Agbonlahor.

Villa coach Paul Lambert was visibly annoyed by his side's capitulation.

The point was nonetheless enough to take Villa out of the relegation zone, as they prepare to attempt to overturn a 3-1 deficit in the second leg of their League Cup semi-final with third-tier Bradford City on Tuesday.
