Nurulasyiqah Mohd Taha claimed Singapore's first gold in boccia at the 2014 Asean Para Games in Naypyidaw, Myanmar on Friday.

The 29-year-old beat Thailand's Visaratanunta Tunimpat 9-0 in the women's BC3 final at the Wunna Theikdi Indoor Stadium.

Boccia is an indoor game which requires competitors to throw leather balls as close to a target as possible.

In swimming, Theresa Goh's hot streak continued for a third straight day. She won the women's 100m breaststroke (SB4) in a Games record of 2min 18.19sec, surpassing the previous mark of 2:22.15 she set in 2011.
