Singapore's biggest annual outdoor ravefest ZoukOut will take place this year in December over two nights on the sandy beaches of Sentosa.
It will be only the second time since the dance party started in 2000 that it will feature two nights of revelling under the stars.
The first time ZoukOut was held over two nights was in 2003, in the wake of the Sars epidemic, when the club took the event to the Marina Bay Waterfront. The party that year was a financial disaster, attracting a poor turnout of around 3,800 people the first day. The second night did better, pulling 15,000 on the second day.
According to Zouk's business development and marketing manager, Ms Sofie Chandra, the partying landscape has "evolved tremendously in the past nine years". She adds that people are now more "well-travelled and the whole festival experience is something they are more accustomed to".
