The Kuala Lumpur arm of Zouk yesterday announced the cancellation of its upcoming dance music party, Life in Color, after drug overdoses at the recent Future Music Festival Asia in the Malaysian capital led to six deaths and 29 arrests.
Among the latter were two Singaporean men who have been charged in a Malaysian court with consumption and possession of drugs.
"Due to the unfortunate events that took place this past weekend, we have decided to cancel the upcoming Life in Color Malaysia event on April 19th, 2014," Zouk KL said in a statement on nightclub's website. It added that the decision to pull the plug was made "with respect for the country and people of Malaysia".
"We appreciate the love and support of our Malaysian fans and our thoughts and prayers go out to the families of those affected," it added.
