Civil servants will get a year-end Annual Variable Component (AVC) of 0.7 month, with lower-wage workers getting a minimum of $1,000. In July, they received a mid-year AVC of 0.3-month.

The bonus amount was decided after consultation with the unions, the Public Service Division (PSD) said on Thursday, while the minimum amount signals the Government's commitment to help low-wage workers.

The minimum $1,000 bonus will be paid to some 2,000 civil servants who earn less than $1,430, 96 per cent of whom are Division IV officers.

All civil servants will also get the Non-Pensionable Annual Allowance of one month, which along with the AVC, will be paid in December.
