Wrong scores reflected for some N-level students eligible for poly through-train

Results of 271 Normal (Academic) stream students were computed wrongly, it emerged on Wednesday.
It also means that the Ministry of Education had to withdraw offers from 95 N(A) students to take a through-train route to a polytechnic via foundation programme available to the top 10 per cent of the cohort.
The system had double-counted grades for subjects that affected students took, at both the N level and O level preliminary examinations, said a MOE spokesman. Each subject should only be counted once - as only the better of the two grades should be used.
The incorrect results were put on eligibility forms for the Polytechnic Foundation Programme.
