Workers' Party unveils new office-holders after CEC election
The Workers' Party (WP) has announced its new slate of office-holders following its central executive council (CEC) election in August.
The top leadership of the party remains unchanged, but there are a few changes in appointments. The council met on Tuesday night to decide on the positions.
One surprise: three of the WP's elected Members of Parliament (MPs) do not hold any position within the CEC. Two of them, Aljunied GRC MP Pritam Singh and Hougang MP Png Eng Huat, used to hold positions as the former vice-chair of WP's media team and the deputy webmaster respectively. Mr Singh has been replaced by veteran council member Jane Leong while Mr Png has been replaced by former WP Youth Wing president Lee Li Lian.
However, Mr Singh and Mr Png were both recently appointed as the vice-chairmen of Aljunied-Hougang Town Council.
