Woman jailed for cheating friend

Buy SPH photosA woman was jailed for six months on Tuesday for cheating her friend of a total of $14,232 over five months.
Jasmine Soh Fang Ling, 26, pleaded guilty to one attempted cheating and four charges of cheating Ms Ong Hwee Lay, 31, of $11,880 between November 2009 and May 2010.
A district court heard that in July 2009, Ms Ong, then a sales assistant, had told Soh, her ex-colleague, that she was having bad luck and was not comfortable working in her company. She also said that there were ghosts in the office following and disturbing her.
Shortly, Ms Ong resigned and was unemployed between October 2009 and February 2010.
