The Singapore Management University (SMU) has received a $2.777 million donation from Dr Della Suantio Lee.

She is married to Mr Lee Seng Gee, son of well-known banker and philanthropist Lee Kong Chian.

Her donation was matched 1.5 times by the Government, bringing the total amount to $7 million. The money will be used for scholarships, bursaries, fellowships and grants for the arts.

In recognition of her contribution, a gallery at SMU was named de Suantio Gallery in a ceremony last night.
