Two suspected war relics were found at noon on Saturday at a construction site near Tampines, said the Army in a video posted on the Singapore Army Facebook page at 7.50pm.

Lieutenant J. W. Ong, reporting for Army News, said soldiers from the Singapore Combat Engineers were "hard at work assessing the situation and preparing a course of action".

"Stay tuned on Army Facebook for more updates," added Lt. Ong, who was dressed in full camouflage fatigues, complete with a kevlar helmet.

In an update, the Army said its Explosive Ordnance Disposal team, which was activated to the scene, assessed that the war relics were empty World War II bomb cases that were free of explosive content.
