The NTUC FairPrice Walk for Rice @ South East Community Development Council (CDC) kicked off on Thursday morning at Ping Yi Secondary School with about 300 participants.

The charity campaign, organised by supermarket chain NTUC FairPrice and South East CDC, aims to raise half a million bowls of rice this year to benefit 7,000 needy families in the district.

The food retailer has pledged a bowl of rice for every 100m walked or for selected items bought.

Now in its fourth and final year, the Walk for Rice campaign has already raised more than 1.5 million bowls of rice in total.
